I'm originally from Rhode Island, and when I told people I was moving to West Texas for my last externship rotation, they were shocked, to say the least. Little did everyone, including myself know, that these 4 months that I spent in West Texas were some of the most amazing times I have ever had! Big Bend, including the Lower Canyon Overlook and Santa Elana canyon trail were some of my favorite hiking. I also loved Marathon, including Ghostfire Pizza and Desert Ghost Distillery. I enjoyed spending weekends exploring the nearby towns or going for runs at Rooney park.

Not only are Dr. Pass and Dr. Cherry two of the most amazing doctors to learn from, but the staff is so friendly and the patients all appreciated having a student doctor. This externship truly was the best externship ever! Not only are Dr. Pass and Dr. Cherry two of the most amazing doctors to learn from, but the staff is so friendly and the patients all appreciated having a student doctor. Prior to coming here, I had never removed a foreign body, let alone used an alger brush. By the end of my rotation, I probably removed over 10 foreign bodies and saw over 900 patients total! The experience is completely unmatched. I not only left feeling more confident in myself and my efficiency, but I also took away a lot of skills about running a practice that I hope to use in my future.
